During the process of animal surgery or acute anesthetized animal experiment, maintaining animals’ body temperature is very important for the accuracy and reliability of the results, furthermore, it is an important way to reduce the mortality of the animals. To fulfill this need, we  launched a new generation of homothermic monitoring system “Thermostar”, which is a closed loop temperature monitor/control system for rodents. The system includes the control unit, 1 flexible rectal probes, 1 heating pads and 1 heat insulation pads. And it can be equipped with 2 pads and 2 probes, for 2 animals surgery.

The control unit acquired a 4.3 inch color LCD touch screen, this user interface allows users to clearly view the subject’s real-time core body temperature, set the target temperature, view the heating state and set audible alarms for subject’s core body temperature abnormality. A specific control circuit for heating pad and rectal probe, respectively, to ensure the stability and safety of the system.

Somni Scientifics Passive style Non Re-Breathing Mouse or Rat Nose Cone System was developed to help minimize exposure to users while also adding key features to simplify the process for the technician. A magnetic base has been added to the nose cone eliminating the need to tape down the device. Magnetic animal positioners are also included to help the user keep the animal in the ideal position during their procedure. 10mm thick latex material provides a proper seal around the rodent’s nose, keeping the gases inside the nose cone and minimizing waste gas exposure in the workplace.

Simply attach this adapter to a patient warming device and insert 1, 2, or 3 breathing circuits, turn unit on and allow tubes to dry. Length of drying time is dependent on the amount of liquid within the breathing tube(s).
